History - some off-beat reading

MacAskills

of Rubh' an Dùnain Society

MacASKILL history, like the clan itself, is finely scattered. On this page we provide some insights into past lives and incidents, courtesy of Raghnall MacilleDhuibh (Ronnie Black), the writer, journalist, Gaelic editor of The Scotsman, and formerly senior lecturer in Celtic in the University of Edinburgh.

He has kindly given us permission to reproduce these articles which first appeared in the Skye-published West Highland Free Press in the autumn of 2007 in his regular column “The Quern-Dust Calendar”.

(Reproduction of these articles in whole or in part is not permitted without the express approval of the author who can be contacted through this website)
